The Great Tythe Barn Winter Wedding – Bex & Johnny
Taxidermy, deckchairs in winter and golden animals. It can only mean one thing. Bex and Johnny got married! This was a completely and utterly fantastic wedding and such a fun day to be a part of!
Couples who have married (or are getting married) at the Great Tythe Barn will probably recognise the person in the white dress as Bex, the super dooper co-ordinator at the award wedding venue in Tetbury! She is normally found helping others stage their weddings, but on this occasion it was her turn to be the bride!
It was such a huge honour to be asked to cover the special day for this awesome couple! I shoot lots of weddings at the barn and I always looked forward to popping into the office to catch up with Bex to see what was on the list of funky things they had in mind for the day. When she informed me very early on in proceedings that there would be a stuffed fox welcoming the guests I knew this was going to be a day that would live long in the memory!
With any winter wedding, you’re always in the hands of the UK weather gods but Bex and Johnny were presented with a stunning day. A crisp dry sunny November Saturday with clear blue skies and a sunset that topped the afternoon off beautifully.
Their approach to the day was very simple; to have as much bloody fun as possible and throw one hell of a party! That’s exactly what they did!
The day was was so much fun to shoot. So many smiles, so much love, just look below at everyone’s faces during the church service (particularly during the sing song at the end!). The speeches at the barn were hilarious. I actually found myself laughing out loud throughout! The dance floor was packed all night long; everyone busting some serious moves as soon as the tunes started.
But enough of me waffling on, I’m sure you just want to see their photos! So here are a handful of the 940+ images I delivered for Bex and Johnny’s big day in the Cotswolds!
I had the honour of working alongside lots of fantastic suppliers. I was absolutely blown away by the epic styling and flower arrangements by Jodie from Acacia Floristry, Make Up – Harriet Cook Hair & Makeup, Catering – Fosters Event Catering, Band – Apollo Soul, Videography – The Wedding Cut, Fireworks by Distant Thunder Fireworks, Chairs – Valley Furniture Hire
